Colour: Print vs. Screen

September 16th, 2010
Ever wonder why the colours you see on screen aren't quite the same colours as seen in print, even though they are supposed to be the same?
Humans perceive colour through light and how that light is used is how we will see colour.
A screen projects the colour, through light, at the viewer, thus giving it a vibrancy.
In print, light reflects off the paper and back at the viewer. Paper can absorb some of the light and so can the ink, reducing the amount of light we perceive the colour with, thus reducing it's vibrancy.
